I'd like at least a little less war.

Maybe some brush conflicts, little ones.

I just want more benders or something around. What's the point of being the worlds best metalbender if I cant even show off to anyone! They all just think it's magic!

[ She throws up her hands in exasperation, then falls backwards. ]

Ugh, yes, with the whole magic thing. They do not understand chi, or energy flow or anything.

[But she smiles.]

It'll be second best if and when I get my earthbending back.

[In teasing voice.]

Pfft, in your dreams.

[ She gives a playful scoff back. ]

This has been nice though. Got any plans for the rest of the day?

[She sighed, crossing her arms behind her head.]

Not a one. Which is weird to say, as an Avatar. How 'bout you?

Nah, totally bored. And Free.

[ She shrugs, kicking back with a lazy lean. Looks like she's imposing on Korra today. ]

Hey Korra,

I was wondering if you could help me with something. It's kind of personal. You don't have to if you don't want to, but it would be a big help, and I'm not sure I could do it as well by myself.

I want to try to get my bending back, and to honor the traditions that come with it. And I haven't done really done it since I got my tattoos, but I think it will help me to make the connection that I need.

I want to shave my head, could you help me?

[She smiles at the voice message, immediately returning it.]

You got it. Whatever help you want, I'll do it.

I want to shave my head. And begin with the basic forms again, the ones that we would do when you first came to Air Temple Island.

Ok, we can definitely do that. I can ask around about maybe getting some of the equipment, too. Must be some carpenters around.

Where and when?

I'd like to do it soon, but whenever you're available. I'll have to find something to cut my hair with first though, and a razor.

I'll bet there's people around who'd lend you what you need. They have some FANCY razors around here for shaving, especially from the Earth universes!

That does sound like it would make it easier.

[She grins.]

Trust me, it absolutely does. They've got a lot of stuff here that's a huge improvement over what we have. Like, imagine if Asami had improved every single grooming and hygiene product you could name.

I kind of wish she was here. Everyone has mentioned all about how things are really improved, a few have invited to come watch movies, and even to go to an arcade.

But thank you for agreeing to help. It really means a lot.

On the night of the 24th the quiet flapping of wings could be heard outside as Arrakis delivered his gifts. He didn’t have his wind magic anymore so he couldn’t silence his approach completely as he quietly placed a box next to the door. He stifled a small shiver. By the goddess it got cold at night. He had more gifts to deliver though so he turned to leave. If you are fast you might catch him before he takes to the skies again.

Inside the box is a card written in fancy calligraphy:

Inside the box is a small bag of homemade chocolates shaped like a wave. The chocolates have a hint of cinnamon and a medium amount of spice this year.

It's touching to receive any gift, especially in dark days. And she's going to eat those entirely more quickly than she should. But hey, Avatar metabolism, right?

But that does mean reciprocation - so!

She'll make her way over and leave a rather nice bottle of the local wine on his doorstep, along with...well, she doesn't leave a card, but she does craft what is obvious a little snow-Korra. Not a good one, but hey! And it's holding a little ice heart with 'thk u' cut into it with a little dash of firebending.

If you're going to use your skills, might as well use them for fun every now and again.

The snow Korra is so cute! Arrakis makes a snow fort to protect the precious snow sculpture. He was freezing by the time he retreated inside, but he wasn't too cold to send Korra a thank you message for the wine and the cute gift.

[ There's something in the air that makes her uncomfortable, even though she said she'd be there soon. A certain smell. It's canine and everywhere. The cat's shoulders hunch, leaning forwards with a small twitch of her tail to glance around, arms dangling and ready to spring.

She takes a slow breath, then knocks on the door. ]

Hello?

[She opens the door a moment later, a smile on her face]

Hey, right on time. C'mon in, we're set up on the patio at the back.

And in passing the living room, Catra will undoubtedly notice the sleeping mountain of fur that is Naga.

"She's sleeping," Korra remarks, "but she loves making new friends. So if she wakes up, she'll definitely want to say hi."

"Hey- What's with-..."

She blinks, slowing down and tensing as she passes the dog... That was the smell, yeah. Her eyes narrow, stepping silently as she passes that room,only speaking once they're past.

"Yeeeah... I'd rather not." She's here for food not dog smothering! Anyway, onwards to food, right? She's not a huge talker sometimes.

She pushes open the two doors to the patio, where a small fire pit resides. There is no fire, at least not yet.

But a gesture of her hand, and a gout of flame lights the wood beneath the small grill she's set up.

"Right, so," she says - "Preferences? I've got beef, fish, and what I'm pretty sure is pork."

Nearby is a tray with mixed vegetables and such to taste with it, and some cheeses.

Catra flinches, glancing over the fire briefly before finding a spot to sit, body still a little tense.

"Not really. Food? Fish is nice." Military life, her food standards are pretty low. Ears flicker. "I'm letting you figure this out, just don't burn it or something."

Cue a shrug, legs kicking up as she lets the fire warm her up, eyes finally glancing back to Korra. "Or is that too hard?" Entirely playful, this time.

She laughs, sticking out her tongue.

"Ye of little faith," she replies, picking up a number of skewers, beginning to prepare the fish.

"And it's pretty easy when you're from where I'm from. We live down in the South Pole of my world, so learning how to effectively cook using fire is, well, kinda a proper skill. And I get to cheat a bit."

"Must be useful. Bet you made a lot of friends~"

Her tone's teasing as ever, just a hint of taunt in that glance back to her.

"What's the South Pole anyway? Like a giant statue, or decorated pole or something?"
